School Story:
My thanks goes out to all the teachers both past and present. Back in the day I couldn't see or appreciate what they had to put up with but I owe them all a huge THANK YOU. What a passion it must take to want to keep working with crazy, hormonal, and often unruly young people who think they know everything but are really on the edge of discovoring that thy have a lot to learn. It takes a special type of Tutor to not only teach relevant content in a timely manor but to help hundreds apply it while boosting the learners self esteem. Thank you again Teachers!
Okay, now for the perspective I had in HS...
Mr Artinger was not only my hero teacher because of his combat training and classroom demonstrations but because he taught at Poky long enough to see every one of my siblings enter and graduate there. That is NINE students from the same set of parents. (Would have been 10 if a sister had survived a complication at birth).
I had Mr Artinger as my Home Room TA and I took the classes which he offered because he was so cool. Little did I know that every time I was tardy for school or class he always let it slide and would never question me. It wasn't until after graduation that I learned why he did this as well as allow me and two others to occasionally sleep in class. Mr Artinger had a big heart and knew that some families like mine had Farm Chores and even Milk Delivory Jobs that took place both before bed and before school. As his student I didn't know any different or expect any favors, but as my teacher Mr Artinger did know the difference and gracefully extended that merciful courtesy to those who needed it.
God Bless Such Thoughtful Teachers!
